We are going to delay episode 125 of Radio Free Charleston from Monday to Friday this week, for reasons that will become obvious to astute viewers.  So that our local music fans don’t feel neglected, tonight we’re bringing you clips of several local bands performing live. We’re going to kick things off with a reprise of two clips that we just debuted last Friday, after recording them the night before at The Pour House in Dunbar.

Above you see Sierra Ferrel with friends Mo and HoboClay, having a blast at the jam session.  After the jump you’ll see Johnny “Hurricane” Compton, the host of The Pour House Thursday night acoustic jam, plus several other clips of live music from area venues.

Jeff Ellis will be playing the Woody Hawley Concert Series at the Clay Center in Charleston with Jon Vezner on Saturday, April 16th, at 7:30pm. Here he is at The Empty Glass, recorded last year.

Beaver Knievel will tear up the stage with The Whiskey Daredevils April 9 at The Empty Glass, here are four songs by the punkabilly terrors, recorded at The Glass.

Take in three songs by The Nanker Phelge, one of the area’s most impressive bands. This was recorded at The Empty Glass, where you can see the band on April 23!

Next up we have Short of Cash, playing at The Blue Parrot during a Wednesday night open mic. Look for them at Sam’s Uptown Cafe and other area venues.

Gee-tar virtuoso Josh Buskirk is seen here performing at Taylor Books, where he will be seen again in June.

Synth-wizard David Synn provided some of the music for Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art show last week, and is expected to do the same at their event next month, April 17 at The Empty Glass, where the performance part of this video was recorded.

Here is Happy Minor at The Empty Glass. Frontman Steve Clever hosts open mic nights Sundays at Little India and Saturdays at The Sound Factory, plus he can be heard Mondays at the Glass and most Tuesdays at Sam’s Uptown Cafe.
