The PopCulteer
October 25, 2013
It’s time for ArtMares again! The art exhibit component of HallowEast which I have been lucky enough to be part of for five years now. This year the art show is happening at Contemporary Galleries (1210 Smith Street) in the third floor showroom. More than forty artists have their work on display and for sale. Half the proceeds go to East End Main Street and half to the artists.
Tonight is the big reception, from 6 PM to 11PM with live music from Sean Sydnor and plenty of adult beverages and things upon which you can nibble. Most of the artists will be on hand. Tip your bartender and it’ll go to EEMS.
Your PopCulteer took his camera to the opening Wednesday night, and I’m bringing you about 90% of the works in today’s photo essay. With so much art to see, there were a few pictures that were too dark or blurry to run. Please remember that my photos do not do justice to the original art, and that you should go to the exhibit to see it in person. This photo essay will be light on commentary because there was so much cool stuff to take in.
Let the ArtMares begin…

One of the highlights of the show is Glen Brogan’s depictions of the cast of “Adventure Time” dressed as the mascots of the Monster Cereals. Glen was kind enough to send me scans of the original art to share with my readers…
