So many musical artists are making their latest albums available as free downloads, that I’m going to start featuring some of the more notable ones here in PopCult.  Kicking off this new tradition is the new album by the former frontman for The Stranglers, Hugh Cornwell.  Hugh has been making incredible music since leaving his old band in 1989, but he hasn’t had a US record label for years.  Now that isn’t a problem.  you can download his new album for free right here.  Above is the video for the song “Within You Or Without You,” which is not a cover of the Beatles tune with the same title.

Downloaded and listened to this a few times over the weekend. Reminds me of Graham Coxon and Robyn Hitchcock. Certainly a solid bunch of songs; I had no idea any of the Stranglers were still doing anything. Thanks for the tip, Rudy!

His last name is Cornwell, not Cornwall.

Duly noted and corrected. Thanks Evil Twin. In my defense, I’ve only been a fan of his since 1980.

Actually, that’s no defense at all. I suck.
