This week’s art is the logo that you will see all over this blog for the next month. Later today the twelfth annual PopCult Gift Guide kicks off and this may well be the biggest one yet.

Each day for at least the next month you will be able to find at least three specific gift ideas (one of them local) and one general guide to a broad pop culture topic. We will be recommending toys, books, music, videos, local gift certificate ideas, graphic novels, magazines and more. Every day the posts will show up between 8 AM and 9 AM, so that you can start your day with a great PopCult-recommended gift idea for the people in your life (and that includes you, you know).

There will be special posts on Thanksgiving and Black Friday that will be the only posts on those days, but the rest of the next month will tell you about tons of cool stuff, and where you can find it. We are going to try to keep the gift ideas reasonable this year. I don’t think any of them are more than a hundred dollars, and the vast majority will set you back less than fifty bucks.

Since this is a labor-intensive undertaking, our internet radio station, The AIR, will be in reruns this week, except for new episodes of Life Speaks with Michele Zirkle Marcum, Laugh Appalachia and The Third Shift. Next week is going to be devoted to marathons and special programs that you can read about right here in PopCult as they unfold. You can listen at the website, or on this neat giftguide-graphic-004little present of an embedded player…

Check back later today for the beginning of the 2016 PopCult Gift Guide, and if you want to see our graphic even bigger, click on it.
