Free Music
Music lovers can enjoy some great music this evening free of charge. Jonathan Slack, AKA “Captain Crash” will bring his acoustic music to Taylor Books at 7:30 PM. At 7 PM, John Craigie puts the bluegrass back into Bluegrass Kitchen. The Barko Loungers provide the complimentary music at Bruno’s on Leon Sullivan Way at 9 PM. RFC guests, The Snake and The Pot perform at Little India at 9 PM and again tomorrow at The East End Bazaar at noon.
Not Free Music
Unity Open Mic is tonight at 7:30 PM. The charge for adult spectators is five bucks, while performers, seniors and kids get in for two bucks. Unity of Kanawha Valley is located at 804 Myrtle Road. Call 304-345-0021 for details.
Stacy Grubb is featured in concert for this month’s “Live at the Alban.”
The Alban Arts Center’s October concert features Stacy Grubb and Friends. A singer/songwriter and member of the Wheeling Jamboree, Stacy’s passion-filled vocals and Bluegrass influence are sure to get you in the groove.The show kicks off at 7 PM, the house opens at 6:30. Johnny C and the Scurvy Dogs will be at Smiley’s at 9 PM tonight and Saturday, but they didn’t say if there’s a cover charge, so it’s a mystery. Still, it’s raucous ’80s covers and it’ll be a huge party atmosphere.
The Empty Glass promises “A Night of Weirdness with Project Biscotti ft John Frail & Professor Bubblemaker.” It kicks off at 9 PM and the cover is seven dollars. I gotta check out these guys one of these days.
Relative Obscurity and Twist of Fate stage a hard rock birthday bash at The Blue Parrot at 10 PM, with a five dollar cover charge.
