This week the PopCult Toybox is a quick photo essay of my own personal booty captured last weekend at JoeLanta, the GI Joe collector’s convention I told you about a bunch of times already. I got back Monday evening, and spent most of Tuesday dumping video and photos into the PC. Over the next several days I will be posting tons of highlights of JoeLanta and The Great Atlanta Toy Convention, plus more about our tour of shooting locations for The Walking Dead and more coolness. But this post is just devoted to some of the goodies I managed to score while having an amazing time.
As you can see, I landed my goal–Bulletman, the Human Bullet, one of the last GI Joes released in the 12″ size back in the 1970s. I actually landed a heck of a lot more. The captions will give you the details.

The incredible Harpoon Gun diorama base, created by Brian Tatum, which goes with the Nautilus Gunner

Two great Elite Brigade sets from Cotswold Collectibles. I bought way more from them than I’m showing here.

When I got him, he came with a commemorative box from 2003. The figure was released in the mid-1970s.

I finally got to meet Chung Kim, and purchased this female figure from the legendary Delta Force Chung!
Expect more photos and video all week long!
Very nice!
Thanks for sharing!
Looks like you had a lot of FUN…and now less funds! The original Adventure Team vehicles are beautiful and send a flood of memories streaming back to my childhood. Ahhhh, to be young and imaginative again.
Great time at Joelanta, I had a wonderful first time experience, loved meeting you and Mel, hope to be seeing you both next year, Tim and I were asked to head up the film festival next year… we said yes. Expecting great things from you and Mel, you’re very creative people.
Loved that you got your very own intruder and I see what you’re doing with him… great keep going…He’s one of my personal favorites..Ogga Shaka rules.
