Monday Morning Art: Looking Up In Taylor’s

We’re kicking off this week with a digital oil painting of the ceiling at Taylor Book’s cafe. This is based on a photo I took during a Tofujitsu show last year. I was mainly just screwing around, saw the detail on the ceiling, and decided to take a picture. I liked the photo a lot, and decided to paint over it in digital oils because the balance of light and shadow was just perfect for that treatment. Click the image to see a bigger version.

What’s the detail meaning of the oil painting?

Looks nice, but a little confused.

It’s just a simple study of light, shadow and color. No deep meaning, just a painted doodle, really.

That’s a really gorgeous sketch. By far my favorite so far:) Hope we can all hang out longer at the next 304 meetup!
