Radio Free Charleston is ALL-NEW with a mystery bonus in our third hour Tuesday on The AIR!  To listen to The AIR, you simply have to point your cursor over and tune in at the website, or you could just stay here, and  listen to the cool embedded player found elsewhere on this page.

You can hear Radio Free Charleston Tuesdays at 10 AM and 10 PM, with boatloads of replays throughout the week.

This week we have a show where the first two hours are jam-packed with great new local and indie music, and our third hour is a Mystery Bonus Mixtape!

So…let me level with you…the reason the third hour is a mixtape with no accompanying playlist is because life kept happening on Monday, which is when I record the show, and I got a very late start, so the only way to pull this show off and get this post written was to leave the third hour open to fill with whatever I could, after I recorded my announcing and wrote what you’re reading now. I put if off as long as I could, so this move was the only way to make it happen.

So hour three is sort of the scrapple of exquisitely curated and weird music. Nobody really knows what the hell’s in it.

Before we get there, we have two great hours of local, indie and cult artiste musique, starting off with the RFC debut of Contraceptives,  from Columbus, and then picking up with an advance spin of “Heartbreaker, ” the new single from Nashville’s Saycouth, which won’t be officially released until this Friday.

We also have new tracks from Stitch Jones and his Bionic Marines, Canoe Speed, Zeroking, Vinto Van Go and Rick Wakeman, and a treasure trove of recent releases and gems from the RFC archives.  We also feature a recent track from Princeton’s Option 22, who will be performing at Folklore Music on Friday. I’ll have details on that in the blog tomorrow.

Our third hour is a mystery wrapped in an enigma wrapped in an act of desperation, with a healthy shmear of excuse sauce sprinkled on top. You won’t know what’s in it until you hear it…and even then you may be left wondering.

Check out this playlist, with links to the artist’s page for the first two hours of the show…
