Sunday night at 8 PM Kanawha Players presents Stuart Fraser’s Black Empire Production, Black Women Supreme: A Celebration of Identity, Intimacy, Strength, and Sexuality.

The show features Charleston-area, talented African-American women performing poems, monologues, and spoken word from world-renowned poets as well as some amazing West Virginia artists.

This Afro-centirc celebration is in the spirit of The Vagina Monologues, with an updated approach.

The Black woman has long provided care, strength, and consciousness to her family and her community. She has also been degraded, disregarded, and silenced for far too long. “Black Women Supreme” provides a space for her voice to be heard.
