A Healthy Part Of This Complete Breakfast

Thanks to a link at Bubblegum Fink, I discovered a cool blog called Waffle Whiffer Zone. It’s dedicated to the packaging and premiums from kid’s food items from the 60s and 70s. Lately he’s written about Pizza Hut Pete, a long-forgotten mascot for the pizza chain, and Big Yella, the mascot of Kellogg’s Sugar Corn Pops. This blog is a gold mine for fans of cereal and fast food from the golden age of mascots. He had me at Baron Von Redberry. I loved Baron Von Redberry. It wasn’t exactly because of the taste. This was basically Frankenberry with different shapes. I’ve just always been a fan of the Fokker Triplane.

My sister preferred Sir Grapefellow. Me, I never much cared for grape cereal. Evidently, not too many other people do, either. If they did, there’d be all kinds of grape-flavored cereals. And don’t even talk to me about Grape-Nuts. They’re about as grape-flavored as Apple Jacks are apple-flavored.
