Monday Morning Art: Lee Street in COLOR

Lee Street, digitally assaulted photograph

This week’s art is a digitally-assaulted photograph of Lee Street, looking West from Capitol Street.  I played with the contrast and went a little nuts with the color and sky effects. That’s Laidley Tower in the middle of the shot, and over on the right side, you can see The Purple Moon, West Virginia’s only Atomic Age Art Gallery and Antique Emporium.  I swear that this is not an attempt to get Chuck from the Purple Moon to order more stuff from the Monday Morning Art store.  Read the italics for info on the various PopCult stores, and follow the jump for a less-assaulted version of this photo.

As always, you can click the image to see a larger version.  And you can also buy this image in the newly revamped Monday Morning Art Store.  You still have a chance to be one of the first ten customers of the store!  You can also follow these links to see my efforts in the PopCult store and the Radio Free Charleston store

As promised, here’s a less-assaulted version of this week’s photograph. It’s still had the contrast and brightness tweaked, but I didn’t go all crazy with the color yet at this stage.

    Nice!

I think even your “less assaulted” picture is very retouched. For instance: that big silver thing in the background. What’s it supposed to be, a building? No building is that big! It would have to be over fifteen stories tall. You are trying to play a joke on us.

    gave me a headache, dude

    Wouldn’t be the first time.

    Always the critic. 🙂

I like the photo–it’s much “louder” than the Monday Morning Art pieces have been of late, but the comments on this one seem a little more bizarre than usual.

    Something in the water, maybe?
